City sightseeing

Budapest is two cities with a river between them, and the good views are on hills at opposite ends of it. 3 hours by car covers what a day on foot cannot, and leaves you at the door rather than at a tram stop.

How it works.

  1. 01

    The route runs Buda first

Castle Hill and the Fisherman’s Bastion in the morning, before the coaches, then Gellért Hill for the view down the river.

  2. 02

    Then across to Pest

Parliament from the embankment, Andrássy Avenue end to end, and Heroes’ Square at the top of it.

  3. 03

    Stops are proper stops

Four or five of them, long enough to walk and photograph. The car waits; nobody is hurried back into it.

  4. 04

    The order can change

A wet afternoon, a closed road, or wanting to stay longer somewhere. The driver reorders the route rather than dropping it.
